For the more adventurous diver. These sites are around the Scottshead Peninsular on the "rougher" side between Dominica and Martinique. Expect more of everything in the Atlantic including more challenging conditions. The Scottshead Soufriere Marine Reserve includes the deep sheltered waters of the bay. Sites range from drop-offs and walls to pinnacles. We try to avoid sites where there are other boats and are always looking for areas where there is less impact from divers. These sites are not in the SSMR so no additional fees are requires. They are close to our home base making it more affordable for those real dive addicts and rare critter hunting photohogs. Unlisted sites like Newtown Dropoff, Seaworld pinnacle or Fort Young flats are perfect for our P.M. dives with the setting sun facing the bay and lighting up the sights. These sights are not dived regularly so look for BATFISH, upside down jellyfish and others. the illusive BATFISH on a muck dive off Newtown This is the most affordable option when diving with us. Our supervised dives include a "lifeguard" on duty and directions to our easily navigated reef. Rated highly for micro-creatures by marine biologist www.marinecreatures.com. Although Dominica is not known for wrecks we know of a few that may satisfy the thirst of the avid wreck diver. |
